The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment & Training (SNAP/ E&T) Program is a self-support program to help customers acquire work skills and find employment. The program also helps customers with work related expenses for the first 30 days of a job. Participation in SNAP/ E&T enables participants to gain work skills and experience, meet the individuals with limited work histories and experience.
ABJ must engage participants for 80 hours per month in one or a combination of activities for which they do not receive cash assistance. Approved activities include Basic Education, Vocational Training, and/or Work Experience. Job search requires the customers, with staff assistance to actively contact employers and seek employment. The customer must attend all scheduled meetings and must make a good faith effort to complete 20 employer contacts per month.
